The Aviation Safety Network has been recognized as a very reliable source of air safety information by many international media. A large number of books, newspapers, magazines have written about ASN or mentioned ASN in their articles.

ASN on CNN 12-11-2001 30 OCT 2006 - Radio France International aired an interview in an English language news program for Africa with ASN founder Harro Ranter regarding aviation safety in Nigeria and Africa in general.

26 AUG 2005 - Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty aired an interview in a Serbo-Croatian program with ASN founder Harro Ranter regarding the FAA's Cat. 2 rating of Serbia Montenegro.

19-25 AUG 2005 - Hundereds of international newspapers take over Associated Press and AFP stories about the West Caribbean MD-80 and TANS Peru B737 accident that quote statistical information from the Aviation Safety Network.
News media included: CNN, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Taipei Times, Los Angeles Times.

18 AUG 2005 - Many international news media take over an Associated Press story titled "Air Safety Figures Tell Incomplete Story", which says ..."Searchable databases of accidents, from full-blown crashes to minor runway scrapes, are available at a handful of respected industry Web sites like the Aviation Safety Network."
News media included: USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Taipei Times, Los Angeles Times.

17 AUG 2005 - Colombian Caracol Radio 6AM Hoy por hoy aired an interview with ASN founder Harro Ranter regarding the West Caribbean MD-80 accident the day before.

1 JAN 2005 - RTL4 Dutch news at 7:30pm on RTL 4 quoted ASN's end-of-the-year press release.

1 JAN 2005 - ANP Dutch national press agency ANP quoted ASN's end-of-the-year press release, which was in turn used by several newspapers, a.o. Metro.

7 JAN 2004 - Dutch Radio 1 VARA program De Ochtenden aired an interview with ASN founder Harro Ranter.

5 JAN 2004 - Dutch Radio 747 AM program Hoezo? aired an interview with ASN founder Harro Ranter
