The aircraft operated on a cargo flight from Panama to Arica, Chile with an en route stop at Talara, Peru. In addition to the crew of four, there were four merchants on board the aircraft.

A contemporary newspaper reported that the aircraft was operated by TRANSA Chile, while C-46 production lists suggest it was operated by Lineas Aéreas Interpolar.
