A BAe Jetstream 41 passenger plane, registered SX-DIA, sustained substantial damage in a hard landing accident at Rhodes/Paradisi-Diagoras Airport (RHO), Greece.
Sky Express flight GQ100 arrived at Rhodes after a domestic flight from Heraklion. At 07:20 hours local time, about 15 minutes before landing, winds were reported to be from 120 degrees at 16 knots, gusting to 34. Upon landing on runway 07 at 07:36 hours, the left hand main gear folded rearwards. The aircraft swerved to the left hand side of the runway.
About fifteen minutes after the accidents wind gusts of up to 47 knots were registered.

The Rhodes AIP states: "Pilots landing or taking off at RODOS/ DIAGORAS Airport should exercise extreme caution when South or SouthEast (S-SE) winds of more than 15 Kts prevail, as moderate or severe turbulence and wind shear may be encountered on the final approach and/or initial climb out areas (mainly of RWY 07)."
