A Korean Air Boeing 737-900 with 133 people on board mistakenly landed on a taxiway instead of its designated runway at Akita, Japan. There were no aircraft on the 30-metre (100-foot)-wide taxiway, half the width of Akita airport`s runway 10/28, and the plane landed safely. The pilot indicated that visibility was poor due to rain.
