Narrative:
As the Glasgow-bound plane (G-JEDO) was being pushed onto the runway, its tail clipped the stationary Manchester-bound aircraft (G-ECCO), causing minor damage. Both flights were delayed for between two and three hours as Flybe organised alternative planes. No Injuries to the 66 passengers and 4 crew members on G-JEDO

Both planes involved were DHC-8-Q400. The airline apologised for the delays, and said its engineers were assessing the damaged aircraft. According to the following extract from the official AAIB report into the accident:

"The aircraft collided during pushback. G-ECOO was stationary on the taxiway when G-JEDO was given clearance for a standard pushback, to face south, from Stand 6. Just before the pushback would have been completed, G-JEDO collided with G-ECCO. Both sustained minor damage to their tail sections. Safety action has been taken to prevent a recurrence".
