Whilst taxiing towards a hangar, the pilot seems to have misjudged the clearance and the helicopter's main rotors struck the hangar. The rotor strike caused substantial damage to the helicopter and also to a Piper PA-32 parked close by, which was struck by debris.
The accident happened in daylight and in fine, clear weather. The NTSB determined the cause to be: The pilot's inadequate visual lookout, which resulted in his misjudgement of clearance
