OEAMTC operated ambulance-helicopter "Christopherus 5" was called out in order to airlift an injured worker from a construcion site at Galzig, Arlensattel, near St. Anton, state of Tyrol.
Right after loading the injured person into the helicopter, the sole pilot became incapable during ground hovering or initial climb.
The helicopter spinned out of control and turned apx. 270° around the yaw axis, then the fenestron-housing hit a scarp and thhe tailbom-bumper impacted a wall of snow, and was stopped this way.
The patient was expeled sideways out of the cabin and the paramedic and pilot suffered from minor injuries, the physician was reported to be unhurt.
Two crew as well as the patient were airlifted by another helicopter ("Martin 2") to the hospital in the village of Zams.
Fortunately none is in critical condition.
