Narrative:
de Havilland DH82a Tiger Moth MSN 82962 (Gipsy Major #82842) Built as R5067. Built at Hatfield for the RAF, and assembled in NZ. Shipped to New Zealand on the s.s "Rangitata" 29.3.40, and BOC by the RNZAF at Unit 18, Rongotai, Wellington as NZ877 on 1.6.40. To 1 EFTS,Taieri [10.40-12.42]. To Wigram [1943].

Struck off charge when sold (as free issue) 19.1.48 to Hawera Aero Club. NZ civil registered as ZK-ARE 23.1.48 to Hawera Aero Club. C of A issued 18.6.48. Registered 18.5.55 to Auster Air Services Ltd, Timaru and converted for agricultural (topdressing/crop spraying) operations. Badly damaged in crash near Hakataramea Downs Farm, Waimate District, Canterbury, New Zealand 12.4.55; Pilot E. Perssons.

Presumably repaired and returned to service, as crashed (again) near Timaru in late 1955. Registration ZK-ARE cancelled 24.5.57.
