Crashed during a forced landing having diverted to Fairwood Common, low on fuel the captain Lt H.Helmberger instructed the crew to bail out however the flight engineer Sgt J.C Walsh refused. In the ensuing crash landing he was killed as he hadn't properly secured his harness.
