PROBABLE CAUSE: INADEQUATE PREFLIGHT BY THE PILOT BY NOT ASSURING THAT THE RUDDER PEDALS WERE PROPERLY ENGAGED. A FACTOR RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT WAS: THE PILOT'S LACK OF FAMILIARITY WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF AIRCRAFT.
