Narrative:
Written off (destroyed) September 20, 1967 when crashed near Winona, Shannon County, Missouri (at approximate co ordinates 370′25″N 9119′44″W); aircraft broke up in flight whilst flying through thunderstorm conditions. Both persons on board (pilot and one passenger) were killed. According to the following excerpt from the official NTSB report into the accident:

"PROBABLE CAUSE(S)
PILOT IN COMMAND - CONTINUED VFR FLIGHT INTO ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS - EXCEEDED DESIGNED STRESS LIMITS OF AIRCRAFT
DAMAGE TO AIRFRAME - WINGS: SPARS - FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES: HORIZONTAL STABILIZER, ATTACHMENTS
MISCELLANEOUS ACTS,CONDITIONS - OVERLOAD FAILURE

Recovery date of wreckage and person on board September 21, 1967. Pilots total multi-engine time: 7.15 hours dual,6.30 hours solo. Pilot not instrument rated
