Narrative:
An Eastleigh aircraft and first flown 3rd September 1940 fitted out at 8MU on the 5th and straight to 222 (Natal) Squadron on the 7th at their base, RAF Hornchurch. Here she saw action during the Battle of Britain. 222 was one of the first Squadrons to take the fight across the channel after the end of the battle. The term 'Rubarbs ' was first used and unfortunately the action didnt start well! X4341 was returning from one with flak damage and sustained a heavy landing at base on the 16th December.
She was repaired off site and sent to AST duties with 53 OTU. On the 8th May, at the hands of a new trainee. He overshot the landing and X4341 ended up in rough ground. X4341 was deemed uneconomic for repair and was SOC on 2nd October 1941 and sent to one of the battle repair shops as spares.
Crew:
Sgt Frederick George Davison 21yo R/77554 RCAF. Injured but safe.

Nothing remains.
Additional information:
Sgt Davison went on to serve with 33 Squadron flying the Hawker Hurricane in the North African campaign. He was killed on OP's.
Died on the 24th July 1942.
