Narrative:Shot down in error by RAF Typhoon aircraft (= "friendly fire incident") and crashed into the English Channel, south of St. Catherine's Point, Isle of Wight. Pilot killed.

James Ferris' body was found some time later and buried at sea by the Royal Navy.
He is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial.
