Crashed during a routine training mission. The cause of the crash was a catastrophic failure of the right engine, leading to loss of hydraulics.
The aircraft belonged to the 366th Fighter Wing "Gunfighters" and deployed from Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.

Both crew members ejected safely.

"Correction to the above statement" the plane in the picture linked below was station at RAF Lakenheath in England assigned to the 492d Fighter Squadron. The blue tail flash and the Squadron patch on the conformal fuel tank (CFT) are dead giveaways. It made a crash landing and both the Pilot and WSO (Weapon Systems Officer) remained in the plane. They performed an emergency egress on the ground (they did NOT eject).

"Correction to the above correction" The A/C shown in the linked image was A/C 97-203 that crashed on landing back in 2000 due to a main gear malfunction. Both the pilot and WSO survived and were egress-ed with the help of emergency crews.

Source....Me, I was stationed at the base and witnessed the crash.
