Narrative:During a precautionary landing due to encountered enroute weather and fuel concerns, the aircraft, an experimental Rotherwick Glasair III, N471B, experienced a loss of directional control and came to rest in a ditch, sustaining substantial damage.
Minor injuries were reported to one or both of the two passengers on board the aircraft.
