Narrative:A replica WW2-era Spitfire plane has made an emergency landing at Whanganui Airport after one u/c failed to extend.
The pilot, the sole occupant of the plane, was unhurt in the incident which happened about 6.15 p.m. on Saturday 29 September 2012.
Airport manager Allan MacGibbon told NZ Newswire the pilot had been forced to make a "belly landing" on grass after the plane's wheels failed.
