Crashed into mountain ravine during a violent storm. Among the two passengers and two crew on board were Kathleen Kennedy-Cavendish (* 20.02.1920, the sister of John F. Kennedy), Peter Wentworth-Fitzwilliam (* 31.12.1910, 8th Earl Fitzwilliam), Captain Peter Townshend (pilot) and Arthur Frederick Freeman (radio operator). Flight had left Croydon, stopped in Paris (where six passengers departed the plane) and was en route for Cannes. The crash site is in the Rhone River valley north of Marsaille. Four bodies were recovered from the wreckage.
