Narrative:
Handley Page Hampden Mk.I L4053 (OL-N) of 83 Squadron, RAF. Took off from RAF Scampton on the evening of 8/8/40, and was lost on combat operations in the early hours of the following day (9/8/40). Crashed returning from raid on Ludwigshafen; aircraft came down near Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg (at approximate Coordinates: 49°29′20″N 8°28′9″E). All four crew survived, and were taken PoW, but two were injured
