Narrative:
Shortly after takeoff from Vance Brand Municipal Airport (KLMO), Longmont, Colorado, the aircraft, a Diamond DA 20-C1 Katana, experienced a loss of engine power and force landed to open field terrain, sustaining substantial damage. The sole pilot onboard the airplane was not injured.
