Narrative:de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth MSN 86493: Taken on charge by the RAF as NM185, notionally at 15 MU RAF Wroughton, Wiltshire 18.2.44. However. placed into long term storage locally in ‘purgatory’ in the Oxford area; returned to Morris Motors, Cowley Oxford for erection [undated, but probably August 1945]. To 38 MU RAF Llandow, Glamorgan 8.9.45. To 18 RFS (Reserve Flying School) RAF Fairoaks, Cobham, Surrey 11.10.48, code “RUL-E”. To 25 RFS RAF Pendeford, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire 22.4.50, coded “19”. To 9 MU RAF Cosford 10.2.53 for stroage pending disposal; delivered 13.2.53.
Struck off charge when sold 4.9.53 to A.J. Whittemore [Aeradio] Ltd, Croydon Airport, Croydon, Surrey. UK civil Registered as G-AODW (C of R R5066) 9.8.55 to Continental Aircraft Services Ltd, Croydon. C of A issued 30.8.55. Registration G-AODW cancelled/lapsed 20.9.55; re-registered 5.10.55 to William Ernest Percival, London W2. Registration G-AODW cancelled 13.3.56 as 'sold to Germany - D-EMOR'.
Registered in West Germany as D-EMOR [allotted 28.12.55] 9.5.56 to Interessengemeinschaft fur Motorflug Regensburg (registered with incorrect identity "MR185"). Re-registered 16.4.57 to Elfi Strumpffabrik KG, Regensburg. Re-registered 7.6.57 to Aircam Flugzeughandel Cukrowskit Memert, Nurnberg. Re-registered 10.9.57 to Luftsportclub der Zeppelinstadt Friedrichshafen, Friedrichshafen.
