Narrative:de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth; built by OGMA (Oficinas Gerais de Material Aeronautico) as MSN P.74 (the 74th of 91 built) for the Portuguese Army Air Force. Sold off and civil registered in Portugal as CS-AFD 8.59 to Aero Clube de Portugal, Sintra.
Written off (destroyed) when crashed Amadora ,Lisbon, at approximately 11:40 a.m. on 18.6.61; both crew - Noe Antonio Cerqueira (pilot) & Alvaro Augusto Gama Giao Gouveia Matos (observer); both aged 19, and Students of the Army Military Academy - were killed.
Amadora is a municipality and urbanized city in the northwest of the Lisbon metropolitan area and 10 km from central Lisbon.
