Narrative:The Queen Charlotte Airlines aircraft was on a scheduled flight from Vancouver to Forward Harbour, Johnstone Strait, British Columbia, Canada when it suffered a fire in the port engine and and was forced to carry out an emergency landing off Vancouver Island, where it caught fire, burned out and sank. The 2 crew and 2 passengers safely evacuated the aircraft and were rescued.
Supermarine Stranraer, CV-184 was issued to No.7 (BR) Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force, Serial No. 907, in May 1938. Sold to Queen Charlotte Airlines Ltd in 1946 and registered CF-BYI ('Haida Queen').
