Narrative:The pilot of the microlight apparently lost control while doing a low-level pass over a private airstrip. It collided with the ground and broke up. The pilot died at the scene and his passenger was seriously injured and airlifted to hospital by helicopter. There have been reports that the left wing failed in flight, causing the crash and there have been other similar incidents in the past on this aircraft type.
The passenger succumbed to his injuries on Friday November 21 after suffering kidney failure.
