Narrative:On 25 November 1943 Lt Claus-Jürgen Dedow of 2./JG 1 was killed when his Fw 190 A-6 WNr 550 554 crashed due to icing during a ferry flight. The Luftwaffe loss list gives the crash location as "6 km west of Deelen". The Netherlands Verliesregister listing all aircraft crashes during WWII gives it as Hoenderloo, a village that is actually north and not west of Deelen. The latter source is thought to be more accurate.
Dedow had been born on 8 July 1921 and is now buried in Ysselsteyn German War Cemetery BL 080.
