Airborne at 19:00 from RAF Syerston, Nottinghamshire, on a mission to Köln in Germany.

Homeward-bound, the aircraft was shot down by the night fighter crew of Oberleutnant Hans-Dieter Frank & Unteroffizier Erich Gotter of the 2./NJG 1, who were flying a Bf 110 F-4 from Venlo airfield.
