Takeoff at 23:25 hrs for a bombing operation to Emden in Germany.
Homeward-bound, the aircraft was shot down by night fighter pilot Oberleutnant Rudolf Sigmund of the Stab II./NJG 2 based at Leeuwarden airfield.
