Hawker Hunter F.Mk.5 WP193: Notified as awaiting collection 16/8/55, delivered 18/8/55 (two days later) to the RAF at 45 MU, RAF Kinloss. Sole RAF career was with 34 Squadron, RAF Tangmere only

Written off (destroyed) 23/2/56: Engine flamed out and could not be restarted, aircraft crashed near Winterborne Stickland, four miles west of Blandford Forum, Dorset. Pilot - Flying Officer Derek Thomas Bryant (Service Number 2552398, aged 24 at the time) - ejected safely

The reported crash location of Winterborne Stickland is a village and civil parish in the county of Dorset in southern England. It lies about 4 miles (6.4 km) west of the town of Blandford Forum at approximate co ordinates 50.8405°N 2.2353°W

The incident did not harm the pilots career: he rose through the ranks to become Station Commander at RAF Coningsby in 1976, Senior Air Staff Officer No. 38 Group in 1982 and Deputy Commander Royal Air Force Germany in 1986. He went on to be Commandant of the RAF Staff College, Bracknell in 1987 before retiring in 1989, along with a CB, and an OBE
