Pilot: Daryl Bruce Palmer. R.I.P.

Mt Grey (933m AMSL), north of Rangiora, Canterbury.
The Piper was being flown from Christchurch by a student pilot on his first solo cross-country flight.
In strong northwest wind conditions near Amberley he lost control of the aircraft and crashed.
