Narrative:The single engine aircraft crashed in a field moments after taking off from Region of Waterloo International Airport. The pilot sustained fatal injuries. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and fire. According to the frollowing CADORS and Canadian TSB report:
"The privately-owned and operated homebuilt aircraft, a EUROPA XS, was doing circuits at Kitchener/Waterloo Regional Airport (CYKF). The aircraft was in the circuit for runway 08. During the crosswind turn after the second touch-and-go landing, the aircraft entered a very steep bank, followed by a near-vertical descent. An investigation revealed that aircraft had crashed 1.5 miles from the field. The aircraft impacted the ground and was destroyed by fire. The sole occupant was fatally injured."
