Narrative:
Mosquito W4062: Took off for a ferry flight. 13/01/1942
The Mosquito W4062 was sent from United Kingdom to Egypt via Malta for trials in the Mediterranean.
During flight but he was damaged by AA over Pantelleria. With one engine out, the pilot force-landed at RAF Luqa. Engine cut stalled on approach and wing hit a patch of soft ground and suffered further damage. The Mosquito was badly damaged and was struck off charge a week later.

Sgt (1262138) Ernest Edward SOWERBUTTS (obs.) RAFVR - injured broke his thigh in the crash, and was removed to hospital
