El día 17 de diciembre de 2004, el piloto tenía previsto realizar un vuelo de adiestramiento
local, para adquirir experiencia con la aeronave Piper J-3-C, matrícula LV-NFX, desde el
lugar apto denunciado de la Estancia San Joaquín.
Luego de realizar las tareas previas al vuelo, el piloto puso en marcha calentó el motor y
rodó a la pista 01, desde donde despegó a las 20:30 hs. Ascendió hasta la altura de
circuito; lugar donde notó que los picos del equipo de aeroaplicación despedían líquido,
motivo por el cual decidió cerrar la llave de tres vías.
Al realizar esta operación se detuvo el motor, por lo que decidió realizar un aterrizaje de
emergencia en un campo sembrado con arroz, anegado donde la aeronave capotó.
