Narrative:De Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth MSN 3964 (Gipsy Major #80877); Taken on charge by the RAF as N6660 at 10 MU RAF Hullavington, Chippenham, Wiltshire 31.3.39. To 1 EFTS RAF Hatfield, Hertfordshire 23.9.40. Crashed 1.7.41 (presuned at Hatfield); to DeHavilland for repairs 3.7.41. To 30 MU RAF Sealand 7.8.41 [stored or perhaps used as communication 'hack']. To 9 MU RAF Cosford, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire 12.6.46. To RAF Henlow Station Flight 7.2.51. Returned to 9 MU RAF Cosford, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire 29.4.54 for storage pending disposal.
Struck off charge as Cat.5(c) when sold as parts 13.10.54 to W A Rollason Ltd, Croydon Airport, Croydon, Surrey. UK civil registered as G-AOIN (C of R R5278/1) 13.1.56 to Alan Henry Jones, Harrow; David Bennicke Hart, Maidenhead & Henry Turner Armstrong, London W1 (aircraft based at Thruxton, Andover, Hampshire). C of A issued 16.3.56. Registration cancelled/lapsed 22.10.56 and re-registered (C of R R5278/2) on 20.11.56 to Leonard William Hartle, Street, Somerset [aircraft based at Elstree, Hertfordshire]. C of A lapsed 16.3.60.
Registration cancelled/lapsed 27.2.61 and re-registered (C of R R5278/3) on 22.3.61 to Richard Eric Rudd, Streatham London SW2 (aircradft based at Biggin Hill, Bromley, Kent). Written off (destroyed) when spun into the ground and crashed at RAF Wattisham, near Stowmarket, Suffolk 4.9.65 when the glider being towed (Rhonlerche BGA.1031) failed to release. Registration G-AOIN cancelled 20.10.65 as "destroyed".
