This MiG-15bis of the 97th IAD flown by P.Lyuvonvinkin was shot down by one F-86E flown by Freeland K. Mathews(4th FIW, 336th FIS). P.Lyuvonvinkin was KIA. Of the four MiGs losses this day, three were from 97th IAD. USAF losses were two F-86s and a third damaged.
