Narrative:Missing in Action 7+m Le Bourget 16/8/43 with Eldon Smith, Co-pilot: Jim Cramer, Navigator: Melbourne Banowetz, Bombardier: Lloyd Hansen, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Harry Lyberger, Radio Operator: George Schmitt, Ball turret gunner: Felix Antonnacchio, Waist gunner: Tom Bone, Waist gunner: Vernon Miller,Tail gunner: Joe Mazzola (10 Returned to Duty); internal explosion severing #1 & #2 control cables, so turned back but ditched Channel, rescued by Air Sea Rescue taken to Newhaven, Sussex.
