1st September 1951 USAF B-47B Stratojet 50-0007 on a formation test flight, crashed after mid air collision with B-47B 50-024 three miles north east of base (Wichita AFB, Kansas). Both crew - Chester A. Clothorp and Oppenheimer - killed. The crew of B-47B 50-0024 were also killed (which see)
