Narrative:An attempt was made to hijack an Iran Air Boeing 727 on a domestic flight from Shiraz to Bandar Abbas. Four passengers, displaying pistols and hand grenades, demanded that the flight be diverted to either Iraq or Israel; however, Iranian security forces aboard the flight killed the hijackers. No other passengers were injured, and the aircraft returned to Shiraz.
