Narrative:
A cargo plane, believed to have been transporting illegal arms, crash-landed 800 m from the runway at Kamina. The crash site was heavily guarded by soldiers of the Congolese military who turned back U.N. military observers.

An Antonov An-28 registered ER-AJG was reportedly photographed at Tembo in 2004. This suggests the aircraft may have been repaired. Alternitavely, a different aircraft was involved in the 2003 accident, or the registration mark ER-AJG had been re-used on another airframe.
