Descripción:
A Beechcraft Super King Air sustained damage in a landing accident at Lima-Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM), Peru. The aircraft was engaged in a local training flight. After completion of the flight, the aircraft was prepared for landing. The undercarriage was selected down but the indicator lights show the left hand main landing gear was not locked. After fly-by of the control tower, the controller reported that the landing gear was down.
The crew requested holding west of the airport to perform emergency gear unloading procedures. After performing the checklist procedures, the left main gear light still did not show down and locked. After landing, the left undercarriage retracted until the left wing touched the runway and caused the aircraft to leave towards the left side of the main runway at taxiway B.

Probable Cause:

CAUSA Y FACTORES CONTRIBUYENTES
CAUSA
La Comisión de Investigación de Accidentes de Aviación del Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones, determina como “Causa del Accidente”, la que se indica a continuación:
“Retracción del tren principal izquierdo al momento del aterrizaje, debido a la ausencia de un Pasador Cónico que no permitió conectar el motor eléctrico con el tubo de torque y actuador mecánico para la extensión y aseguramiento del tren principal, que generó la salida de pista (Runway Excursion)”.
FACTORES CONTRIBUYENTES
a. Proceso de Control de Calidad deficiente durante la ejecución de la Inspección Fase 3 al tubo de torque, que no detectó la mala instalación de la tuerca auto roscante en el Pasador Cónico (Taper Pin N°13), que evitó el correcto funcionamiento de la cadena mecánica de transmisión de movimiento para extender adecuadamente y mantener asegurado el tren principal izquierdo.
