Narrative:
A Britten-Norman BN-2A-8 Islander, registration 8R-GAR, suffered a runway excursion accident during landing at Kopinang Airfield in Guyana. The right hand main landing gear broke off the nose landing gear was bent as the aircraft impacted an elevated part of the surrounding terrain.
Reportedly the airstrip, which was being repaired and extended, was waterlogged due to rainy conditions at the time.
