Narrative:Crashed. During a nighttime training flight/practice bombing run, subject aircraft experienced engine troubles near the bombing range. While the pilots were attempting a forced landing, possibly due to fuel starvation, in a farmer's field, the bomber "pancaked" into the ground and burst into flames, killing all ten airmen aboard, ten miles south of Ellsworth, Kansas.
