Narrative:
The grass runway was orientated north east; the surface wind was calm. The pilot reported that he had misjudged the height at the runway threshold and had 'rounded out too high'. He considered that the contrasting colour and direction of recently mown grass at the threshold and the upwards slope of the runway may have contributed to the accident.

Damage sustained to landing gear and fuselage; however, this was soon repaired, and the Tiger Moth was sold on 18 November 1998 to its fourth owner from new

NOTE; G-ADPC was a genuine DeHavilland built pre-war Tiger Moth, originally civil registered as G-ADPC from 24 September 1935 until 3 January 1941, when it was impressed into military service as BB852. As such, it served with the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm until Written off 3 November 1964: Caught by a gust of wind while landing at Roborough, Plymouth, Devon. It overturned after hitting a pill box. Struck off charge and sold. Stored for many years. However, later rebuilt, and reverted to its original pre-war registration G-ADPC on 15 April 1992.
