Narrative:Written off (destroyed) 4 December 1976 when involved in a mid air collision with Cessna 172N N75604 near Grand View, Orangetown, Rockland County, New York. All three persons on board the Piper PA-31, and both persons on board the Cessna 172N were killed. According to the NTSB report into the accident: "Pilot in command failed to see and avoid the other aircraft. Fresh scuff marks on leading edge of de-icing boot of vertical stabilizer".
