Narrative:Written off (destroyed) 5 July 1974: aircraft collided with trees on a mountainside at Hickory Ridge near Chatsworth, Georgia (at approximate co ordinates 34.95 N, 84.57 W) killing the 44-year-old pilot (sole person on board). At the time of the accident there were thunderstorms in the local area, heavy rain, and mountain peaks hidden in clouds. Aircraft hit mountain at about 4,000 feet amsl.
Aircraft initially posted as "missing" until wreckage recovered on July 10, 1974. Some of the wreckage is still (reportedly) "Visible in the Fall and Winter". The NTSB report blamed the accident on the pilot continuing to fly a VFR flight plan in adverse weather conditions. Registration N11HW cancelled by the FAA on May 5, 1975
