El día viernes 15 de febrero de 1952, el avión de fabricación nacional FMA I.Ae-24 Calquín, registro A-30, nº/serie 030, perteneciente a la Fuerza Aérea Argentina, había despegado de la IV Brigada Aérea de Mendoza cuya tripulación estaba compuesta por el Piloto Teniente Alfredo Gustavo Ludovico GÖTZ. (Promoción XIII de EAM egresado el 11 de diciembre de 1947) acompañado del mecánico Cabo Principal Carlos Adrián Manuel MOYANO y siendo aproximadamente las 12:00 hora local, sufre un atascamiento de uno de sus motores, el avión se desestabiliza y el piloto no lo puede controlarlo, cae a tierra cerca de El Algarrobal, Coordenadas: 32°50'1"S 68°44'39"W, departamento de Las Heras, provincia de Mendoza, muriendo su tripulación.
