RF-4C Phantom II 68-0586, based Bergstrom AFB, TX. Destroyed on March 5, 1974 in a night time mid-air collision with another Phantom (71-0257). Crashed 6 miles south west of Gainesville, Texas. Pilot Major D. C. Cartwright ejected . Captain Meinholf Hoelscher (German exchange pilot from Luftwaffe AG51) killed.
