This aircraft suffered (AA) a damaged wing during a strafing attack at Morlaix on 28/09/41. F/O Karel Kasal (s).

Spitfire P8259 was repaired and later that year was converted to a Mark Va by the installation of a Merlin 45 engine.

On 23/2/43 it was wrecked and written off when it spun into the ground while being operated by No.1406 (Met.) Flight.
