Narrative:Boulton Paul Defiant N3311, 2 AGS (Air Gunnery School), RAF Dalcross, Inverness: Written off (destroyed) 28 July 1942 when Stalled & spun into Moray Firth while on gunnery exercise, 4 miles East of Burghead, Morayshire, Scotland, Both crew killed.

As no trace of Defiant N3311 or its two crew were ever found, they were commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial
Burghead (Scots: Burgheidn or The Broch, Scottish Gaelic: Am Broch) is a small town in Moray, Scotland, about 8 miles (13 km) north-west of Elgin. The town is mainly built on a peninsula that projects north-westward into the Moray Firth, surrounding it by water on three sides.
