Spitefire Mk. 1 L1067 "XT-D" of 603 (City of Edinburgh) Sqn RAF: Damaged by Bf.110's in combat over Deal, and crashed at Snargate, Kent. Pilot, Sqn Ldr G Denholm, Officer Commanding No 603 Sqn, bailed out but was back in action the very next day.
