On 27 March 1940 the Blenheim IF L1212 of 25 Sqn RAF turned at too low an airspeed after take-off from North Weald, stalled, and wing hit ground. The pilot, Plt Off Peter Darrell Walter Brierley, was killed, while his air gunner, Plt Off A T Sword-Daniels, was injured.
