Narrative:
Shortly after release of the glider, the glider-tow aircraft impacted trees and terrain near the Springfield Aerodrome (NZSF), in the Selwyn district of Canterbury, and was consumed by a post-impact fire. The sole pilot onboard the airplane received fatal injuries.
